Men's Hair Trends for 2026: What We're Seeing in the Chair

From the return of the textured quiff to the quiet luxury of the soft taper, 2026's most compelling hair movements share one thing in common: they are built around the individual, not the trend.

Every year, we observe patterns emerging from the thousands of consultations that pass through our salon. Some trends arrive fully formed from the catwalks and editorial pages; others emerge quietly, client by client, as a collective shift in taste rather than a top-down directive. This year, the most interesting movement is the latter.

The textured crop continues to evolve. Once the reliable go-to for men wanting a low-maintenance modern look, the textured crop in 2026 has become more considered — longer on top, with a more deliberate fade gradient and increased emphasis on personalisation. The rise of matte clay and paste finishes has given this style new dimension, allowing for morning styling that feels effortless.

The soft taper is perhaps the most significant development of the year. A reaction to the hyper-defined fades of the mid-2010s, the soft taper is about subtlety — a gradual reduction in length that requires a significantly higher level of barber skill than a standard skin fade, but delivers an infinitely more refined result. It photographs naturally and looks equally appropriate in the boardroom or at a weekend dinner.

Longer hair is enjoying a serious resurgence, but with a key difference from previous waves: the emphasis is on condition and precision over length alone. Men are growing their hair, but they are also taking care of it — investing in regular trims to maintain shape, using quality hair care products, and visiting specialists like our scalp treatment team to ensure the foundation is healthy.

The fringe has returned, albeit in a more restrained form. Rather than the heavy, blunt fringes of a decade ago, today's iterations are softer, lighter, and often swept — designed to complement the face rather than dominate it. This requires precise cutting and an understanding of how the hair naturally falls, which is why a thorough consultation is essential before committing.

Across all of these trends, the common thread is intentionality. The men we see in 2026 are thinking more carefully about their hair — treating it as a genuine expression of personal style rather than an afterthought. That is a shift we welcome entirely. It is, after all, the philosophy upon which Luxe & Co. was built.
